Time, time, time! Time sure gets away with me!

The last time I blogged summer was nearing an end and fall was fast approaching, now it seems as if winter will be here before we know it and I haven’t written in quite some time. Life is busy to say the least, our little family is always on the go and having fun making memories. Here is a LONG picture montage of the past few months. Again as I have promised in the past I will try my best to be better about blogging!

Silly String fun! I love this candid shot that I somehow got of Dada and Savanna playing out front with silly string. They sure love playing together!!

Our family stay-cation!

Toward the end of summer we had Savanna for a few extra nights so we decided to create a family stay-cation. We went to the Aquarium of the Pacific (silly mommy forgot the camera so no pictures from that day), we took in a dodger game and we stayed a night at the Disneyland Hotel with our close friends the de la Torre family. It was a wonderful time spent together exploring some fun and exciting things So Cal has to offer!

Mommy's First Night Out!!

Other than being at work or running a few short errands I haven't left Connor for a little fun time. This year Jill threw a small adult halloween party and I decided to join in on the fun. Here's my favorite picture of my best friend Katie and I acting silly. We all had a great time and it was nice to get in some adult time but I sure did miss my little guy.

Halloween!! Unfortunately due to circumstances that were out of our control we didn't get to see Savanna this year on Halloween but while missing her we put smiles on our faces and celebrated Connors first holiday! He was our little monkey man and was simply adorable! Luckily we did see her the following day and we played Halloween dress up! She was Princess Jasmine! We made mummy dogs and played. It was wonderful to be together as a family!

Banana's first dance class! Jenn, a friend of mine has her little girls in dance and they love it. I want for Savanna to discover what she loves to do so I thought it would be fun to try out a dance class. She did so great and had a wonderful time. She may become our little dancer, she might not but I hope through trying new things she finds an activity that she truly loves!

Daddy and his little dancer! We are off to class!

My little Connor Jax is growing so fast and getting so big! I can't believe that he's already four months old... where is the time going to? We had a great 4 month well baby check up. He's happy and healthy and BIG!! He weighed in at 18.1 lbs and measured at 27 1/4 inches! That's 97th percentile for both categories! He's becoming very chatty too in his special little baby language. The doctor even commented that he's very verbal for his age in one of our appointments when Connor just had to be apart of the conversation. He's such a special addition to our young family!

My love!

Where is summer going to?!?!

Can you believe that it’s already August 13, 2009… as I wrote that I began to write that it was July which really proves my point that this summer if flying by!!! School starts up in about a month… YIKES!! Although my plan is to not head back until November I know it’ll be here before I know it. I really don’t want to leave my little guy but understand that like most moms I don’t have much of a choice.

Anywho… what a busy and fun summer we are having! Just this past weekend we went to the OC Fair… we made it on the last night. I just love the fair but it definitely was a different experience with a little one. We had a great time but let me tell you feeding a munchkin isn’t easy there… it’s just too loud but other than that we really had a great time. When we arrived Savanna jumped on a few rides and went straight for the jumbo slide the second it came into view. Since Duane hurt his butt last winter in the mountains he couldn’t hop on the slide with her so she went all on her own. We were VERY impressed. She’s getting so big! After the slide we were on a mission to find my favorite… fair corn!! Walking to the food area we ran into Uncle Jeff and a few other friends of Duane and their families so what started as just us turned into a night spent with friends and family and lots of kids!! I didn’t get a chance to take much pictures but I did get a few of dare devil Savanna on the slide and the Ferris Wheel. The night ended with a visit to the petting zoo and a ride for Duane and Savanna on an elephant… I really wish I would have gotten that on film, next year.

Dada and Savanna on the Ferris Wheel! Wheeeeee!

Savanna on the big, jumbo, gigantic slide!

This week is the final week of camp for Duane and as they do every year the campers attended a baseball clinic at Angels Stadium. This year I thought it would be nice to go to the game to one get out of the house and two to introduce Connor to his Daddy’s work friends that we are close to. So Auntie Katie and I bundled up the C-Dog and headed over to the stadium just in time for the game to start. Connor was a hit and all of the families that attend camp and adore Duane were thrilled to meet the little guy. Connor especially fell in love with Marcy from camp and she held him while I got the chance to enjoy some ballpark goodies!! Here are some of my favorite pictures from the game.

8/7/09: First Bath!!

Now you might be thinking he's a month old have you not bathed hi since he came home?!?!? I was just too comfortable with the sponge bath that I was giving him at night before bed. Although Connor's umbilical cord and circumcision ring fell off some time ago I was a little nervous about giving him a bath in the baby tub only because babies can be so squirmy and slippery in the bath but last night I bit the bullet and gave him his first baby bath and he loved it!! Here are the pictures we got of the big event!!

Our first 6 and 1/2 hour night of SLEEP!!!

Connor is 3 weeks today... it's sounds strange to say that the time is flying by but I just can't believe it's been three weeks since he was in my tummy! Nights have been a bit of a challenge as I'm sure they are for most parents and last night marked our first night where he slept until morning!! We went to bed at 10:30pm and woke up at 5:00 to eat. It was so amazingly incredible to get that kind of sleep. I know there is no guarantee that I will get the same amount of sleep tonight but hey a girl can hope!! I'm so proud of my little man!

Connor’s first trip to Disneyland!

Sunday July 26th we decided to take the family to Disneyland to check out the parade and hop on a ride or two. We waited until late afternoon and piled the family into the car (our first ride with both of the kids in the car went VERY smoothly!!) and headed off to the Happiest Place on Earth! Connor was asleep through most of the day but did wake up for the parade and for It’s a Small World ride. Obviously he hadn’t a clue where he was but it was great to be there with the whole family, the weather was great and Savanna had a blast introducing her brother to some of her favorite characters. Here are some pictures we took while there!

Our first ride together as a family!!

Lot's and Lot's of Firsts!!

There have been a lot of firsts going on in the last few days for little Connor Jax! He had his first Doctors visit on Tuesday July 21st where he passed all tests with flying colors and was only one ounce away from returning to his birth weight! His color looked great, his reflexes were perfect and Doctor Welty said that he looked like a happy, healthy little guy! We did have to go back that Friday for another check on his weight, apparently they need an exact measure at exactly two weeks of age so our second trip to the doctor was on Friday, July 24 and Connor Jax weighed in at 10 pounds 5 ounces.... a whole 4 ounces bigger than Tuesday. I sure do have one BIG and growing little man!!

On Friday the 24th I was given the go ahead to drive but I was so restless that I jumped the gun a day early, I was tired of being shuttled around and wanted some independence. On July 23rd Connor and I took our first drive together ALONE in the car, I was a little worried but it all ran very smoothly and we only experienced one crying spell. Although those times in the car when he’s crying and you can’t do anything are the worst we made it and went to visit my mom and meet my parents dog Gracie. She wasn’t too sure what to think of him at first but I know in time she’ll warm up and find herself a new best friend.

If you know me Connor had a HUGE first at on July 17th! Connor, Auntie Heather and I made our very first trip to TARGET together!! He did great and we picked out a few little sleepers for him, all of his summer sleepers were newborn size and well my big little man just doesn’t fit into anything newborn. I’m certain that this will be the first of many, many, many trips the little guy makes to my favorite store!!

Our Beautiful Patio

In looking for a place to live it was important for us to find something with some sort of outdoor living space. I love being outdoors and also wanted a little garden of my own to plant flowers and such. When we found our little condo this living area felt perfect (knowing I wasn't going to find a place with a backyard but that'll come with our next home!) We took some time finishing what we wanted for the inside and now we have finished our patio area. We found this great set at a liquidator and Duane's parents bought us plants and flowers. Duane and his Dad spend a few hours hammering in trelesouses and planting star jasmine and made out patio private and beautiful. Now that there done it's time for me to decorate!!!
